ok i finally deleted the rest of my stuff here and now i feel much better, but i think i should explain why, so that you may think about DA abit more.
First of all my main problem are the varius tipes of advertisement around here, shure, the community is huge and needs funds for technical reasons, but there are alot of people, if i understood correctly, that have to make a living out of this site. I hope that i am wrong about this, but if its true, they are nothing more than a bunch of semi artistic gallerists who provide "free art for every one". Of course you can enter for free, but the works can be used by them, cant they, like using them for advertisement or so?
Ok what i wrote is maybe not true, but there are other problems wich i face here.
All this stupid devwatch, dev of the month and things are totally unfair.
Nobody here is better than anybody else, maybe some have what society call "talent", but this doesnt mean that their art is more worth mentioning than others. I thought that art cannot be catigorized in good, not so good, and bad. The super talents on this site often have a really weird behavior, they do some nice pieces, upload them, they write a big do not copy, underneath it. But why upload it then? You know, it will be stolen, if its so, good. On the otherhand you are at internet- free ideas, free data, free thoughts. If your problem is, that people are making money with your art, fight them, dont just write a statement as if you were a huge record company like BMP.
After the superartists here, there are the people who believe that they are just low folk who will have to work hard until they get there where the others are, a place under the art-sun. Comment without reason, without no content, things like thats great, in short, things we all have written here, do not get art further, nor the people who make it. If hurraying other people is necessary for you ok, but it is very shallow in any kind of conversion, it would be much better to create a piece of art as an answer...
The last thing is that, in order to be in contact with the people on the net, you have to spend hours of your day in front of a stupid machine, in your so nicely build home, wich is so warm and secure, well if you cant, go to an internet cafe. What you loose is physical contact with people, touching,smelling, watching,hearing, maybe even tasting them (not as cannibals... I hope). That means that you cannot contact as a normal physical beeing, you cannot use your sences, you are therefore handycaped.
The problem is, that if you want to meet people from all around the world, go there, do not use a chat wich cannot give you anything, no hugs, no fights,no laugh, it wont give you a feeling how these people you met at the net think, live, and feel over there. you dont not now hove their social enviroment is, their everyday habbits that make them human. You dont really meant anyone there, only if you go there. You may tell me, that going there is allmost impossible, expensive, to much time costing and so on. But think about how dificult it has become to go to another country, just because there are borders. Think about the amount of mony you have to pay, and about how much you have to work for that amount (if you ever will be able to afford it), about the time you dont have, becauseyou have to work.
Well why, cant you go? I mean you are "free to", but you know you cannot. And this is the point where some people want to have you, you think that with the net you can go there, or at least talk with people from far away, as a sence of freedom. But they want you to work, they want you to spend your money on monitors, graphic cards, DSL connections, and a nice sofa to chill. But if you would travel all the time you would get new ideas, maybe dangerous ones, or a bad idea of comanies, of the state, and ask for mor freedom, for a live without a screaming boss, who only cares abou how much profit he will make and about how he can show of. Maybe you would think different about art, you would stop going to galleries and start painting the houses of the city, because their gray tires your eyes...... and then what, if youd have all the good things, how will they make you do things you hate? how will they be able to rule???
Show your art in the streets, there, where all people, not only "talented artists" can see it, and you may meet some really good people, who will give you more than just a damndevwatch!
